DISENCHANTED
(Sherri Mullen/Shane Mullen Copyright ©2010)
Sad, lonely, lost girl
Riding busses round and round
The pretty people never noticed
Her tear stained face in the crowd
In the beauty of the landscape
Ugly secrets she did hide
From bus stop to bus stop she just rides
At Sundance
She came so far
She thought she could heal
But the longer she stayed
The worse she'd feel
(CHORUS)
Unused tickets
Silent screenings
Moving pictures
With no meaning
In a crowded theater full of empty space
DISENCHANTED in an enchanted place
Sad and lonely lost boy
Shivering inside the storm
Takes a drink to dull the rain
And smokes a cig to keep him warm
In the beauty of the landscape
When the burning in his lungs subsides
He puts back on his headphones and he hides
At Sundance
He came so far
He thought it would help
But the change of place
Didn't change the way he felt
(REPEAT CHORUS)
Snow covered mountains frame a picture perfect scene
Star studded meet and greets for those who cared to see
The flash bulbs spark, the cameras roll, as all are entertained
Everything was different but nothings really changed
(REPEAT CHORUS)
