PANCAKES
(Joey Hamende / Stephen Hamende Copyright ©2009)
Just like a woman, you wouldn’t make the first move
We spent four hours in my car
And just like a man, I thought I knew exactly what to do
But nothing seemed to get me very far
Around 2 AM you said I gotta go now
And there was no more time to figure you out
So I made a joke, and that made you laugh
And that made me think, just make a pass
So we made out, you showed me how
And in the morning you made PANCAKES
Just like a woman, you made me go shoppin’
We spent all day in that mall
And just like a man, I wouldn’t quit complainin’
And I made damn sure you heard it all
At the last store I said that dress made you look fat
That’s about the time that you snapped
And you made a scene, and that made me mad
So I made you cry, and that made me sad
But we made up, then we made love
And in the morning you made PANCAKES
On the 21st of May I said “I do”
And you said you did too
So we made a life that’s all our own
We made this house a happy home
It’s filled with love and that’s enough
To make my heart sing
We made a son, he makes us glad
The money’s tight, but it’s not bad
Make no mistake, our life is great
And on Sunday mornings we make PANCAKES
