Compelling lyrics, powerful vocals, intricate harmonies, musical versatility, and multi genre appeal that bridged the generation gap... In 2008, award winning singer/songwriter Sherri Mullen made music a "family affair" as she teamed up with her prodigy guitarist/son Shane, for acoustic duo and full band shows. The Mother/Son duo honed their skills & grew their set list while touring in support of Sherri's third independent release called "FEARLESS" (winner of the Central Pennsylvania Best New CD Award).
SM2 (pronounced "SM squared") was born in late 2009 when Sherri & Shane decided to officially team up to write for a new album of original material that they released in early 2010. Songwriters by day...gigging warriors by night, the two found common ground rarely seen in a mother/son relationship, and forged a musical bond that transcended boundaries. Their songwriting, vocal prowess, & musicianship captured the imagination of their fans...making them laugh, cry, think, & dream, all while tapping their feet and singing along! The one/two punch of Mullen & Mullen made this a strong and unique musical offering, appealing to all age groups, and embraced by fans of Americana, Blues, Country and Rock genres alike! The on stage contrast between the lively, fun loving, flamboyant Mother and the laid back, mysterious, musing Son was truly magical. This project may have only lasted a few years... but the impact of the Strange Symmetry album continues to be timeless! |
